About Us

Mission

At Ohr HaChinuch we strive to create the ideal learning conditions that allow each and every child to feel accomplished and thrive. We accomplish this by designing flexible classroom environments and personalized, dynamic learning opportunities with a focus on rigorous skill development and content acquisition. Graduates of Ohr HaChinuch will develop a strong connection to and love of Hashem Yisborach while also picking up the proper skills which allow them to learn a sugya on their own.

Develop a love of Hashem by looking at the world around us and recognizing the Gadlus HaBoreh - The greatness of the creator and feeling Hakaras HaTov - Gratitude.

Easy Child-Centered, Personalized Classroom

Provide students with a unique mentoring program meant to connect with each individual child throughout the day. Have open-space classroom designs which allows for individualized instruction and multiple testing opportunities which ensures that every child is reached.

Derech Eretz

Built into the curriculum, and utilizing our Rebbeim and Morahs as role models, students learn how to treat everyone in a respectful manner through words and actions thereby ensuring a safe and home-like environment for everyone.

Learning/Limud Hatorah

A rigorous, intentionally-designed curriculum which focuses on skills development and content acquisition to enable every child to internalize and feel accomplished.

Parent-School Partnership

An open communication policy in which school staff collaborates with and encourages parental input and participation in order for parents to feel comfortable and secure that their child is safe, secure and happy.

Social-Emotional Development

Students develop and learn healthy social skills to help them build meaningful friendships, have empathy, and successfully collaborate with peers. Staff members, through direct and indirect instruction, guide students in understanding themselves to bolster each student in their personal growth.

Curriculum outline

The curriculum at Ohr HaChinuch is designed to provide a comprehensive and well-rounded educational experience. 

Our approach integrates Limudei Kodesh – Judaic Studies, General Studies and Middos – Character Development. In Limudei Kodesh, students engage with Torah and Talmudic principles, starting with the foundations skills sets in Kriah, followed by important skills in Chumash and Mishnayos followed by a rigorous Talmud curriculum all while fostering a deep connection to Hashem and our Mesorah. 

General Studies encompass English, mathematics, science, and social studies, promoting critical thinking and intellectual growth. Starting with a strong empahsis on reading and writing, as well as the foundation in Math that lead to a more successful educational outcome.  Character development is interwoven throughout the curriculum, emphasizing Middos Tovos and social responsibility. 

With a focus on individualized learning and a commitment to excellence, Ohr HaChinuch aims to nurture students academically, spiritually, and ethically, preparing them for a meaningful and successful future.
